化工翻译的特点与翻译基本方法

　　一、化工翻译的特点：

　　1、化工翻译需选用最合适的词汇意思

　　分包商的工作包括所有的油漆工作，有补漆和底漆、面漆。Primer一词的常用意思是入门、第一，但这里是指底漆。

　　2、化工翻译需分析语法结构，了解修饰成分，分析各部分之间的逻辑关系，使字数较多、结构复杂的长句子变得短小、容易理解。

　　3、由于化工翻译的译文中大量使用被动语态形式，所以要按中文的习惯正确排列语序，使其阅读起来通顺、上口。

　　另外要记住一些常见的固定缩写：

　　如：FRP―Fiberglass-Reinforced Plastics 玻璃纤维增强塑料、玻璃钢、HDPE－ High-density polyethylene  高密度聚乙烯最后，在化工翻译时注意忽略一些无实际意义的词，使译文更清楚、更简洁。

　　二、化工英语翻译的基本方法：

　　1 、顺序法：当汉语长难句内容的叙述层次与英文基本一致时， 可以按照顺序翻译。

　　例如：介绍了一种制备硝仿的安全方法， 该方法首先硝化起始原料， 起始原料溶解或悬浮于硫酸中， 然后在 - 10 ~ + 80 , 将硝化剂（由硝酸、硝酸盐或 N2O5 组成 ）加入硫酸溶液或悬浮液中。

　　2 、合译法：翻译时可将汉语的短语译成英文句子， 使语意连贯。

　　例 如：尽管高比率超细 AP力学感度很低，但 AP /GAP /BDNPF /A 推进剂的化学安定性良好。

　　The AP /GAP /BDNPF /A prope llan ts presen tgood chem ica l stab ility and despite the h igh per centage of UFAP su fficiently low mechanical sensitiv ity.

　　例 如：所能产生的少量硝酸铯不代表此物质的实用价值， 尽管它具有良好的相特征。

　　The small amount of available cesium n itratedoes no t indicate a practical use of them aterial inspite o f its good phase properties.

　　3、分译法：将汉语中一个单句译成两个或两个以上的简单句。

　　例 13 用 200m, 30m 和 2m 三种 AP可得到 83%和 84%固体装填的可加工推进剂。

　　W ith a trimoda l fraction of 200m, 30mand 2m AP, it w as possible to ach ieve processab le propellants w ith 83% and 84% so lid loading.

　　4、 综合法：翻译一个汉语长句时不能只单纯使用一种翻译方法， 而要综合使用各种方法。我们必须仔细分析， 对全句进行综合处理， 以便把汉语原一 中国科技翻译 21卷文翻译成通顺且忠实原文的英文。

　　例 一：取代灭火系统中的推进剂应是能速生成大量无固体残渣、无毒气体的气体发生剂， 该推进剂是一种可浇铸双基推进剂配方， 主要组分分别是硝酸铵、NC和一种或数种高能硝酸酯增塑剂， 另外还含有热稳定剂。
